Live Mural Painting & Community Project | NAMI-NYC Walk 2023

You Are Not Alone Murals proudly returned for the second year to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Street Fair. Our contribution this year aimed to foster a deeper understanding of mental health through an engaging community art project. The centerpiece was a live mural creation by Dirty Bandits, and an interactive postcard writing stations. Here, attendees were invited to write personalized messages of hope and support, to send and share with their loved ones.

Seaport Mural Fest 2023 | Murals for Mental Health in NYC

In 2023, we proudly returned to The Seaport in NYC for a powerful multi-artist mural event promoting mental health awareness. Ten talented artists collaborated to create a stunning mural series, each iteration conveying the inspiring message "You Are Not Alone" in a different language. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Howard Hughes Corporation and The Seaport for their unwavering support in making this impactful project a reality.

Monumental Mural Unveiled for Mental Health Awareness Month | Darien, CT

For Mental Health Awareness Month, YANAM and local CT muralist Brian Kaspr were invited to create a massive two-story mural at 1120 Boston Post Road. This is our largest mural to date at 38’ high and more than 120’ wide. It took 2 days, 25 gallons of paint, 2 lifts, and 4 painters.

You Are Not Alone Murals wants to spread the message beyond the neighborhoods where murals can be found. So we have teamed up with Priority Bicycles and MOO for Priority Delivers, a multi-part activation in various bustling areas of the city which entails the surprise distribution via bicycle of postcards featuring art with the phrase “You Are Not Alone.”

This was our first multi-artist large scale installation. Eight participating artists covered 96ft of wall in two days in 90+ degree weather in July. The Seaport is such a perfect place for these murals since it provides a unique intersection of different neighborhoods, locals, commuters and tourists.

In honor of Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 2-8th), You Are Not Alone Murals mailed out postcard sets, free of charge, to anyone who signed up for our. newsletter. Our hope is that these postcards, featuring art created by our community, encouraged recipients to share the “You Are Not Alone” message with the people they care about most.

In addition to featuring murals, we have expanded to include artists working in other mediums (digital, ink, marker, textiles, chalk, cut paper) and already received 200+ works from 25+ countries.
