Jocelyn Tsaih Seaport, Manhattan, NY, 2025

Artist statement: Participating in this year’s Seaport Mural Festival for You Are Not Alone has been a powerful reminder of why I make art. Creating has always been my way of connecting—with others and, in turn, with myself. Art allows us to communicate what’s often hard to put into words, reminding us that we’re not alone in what we feel or go through. My work centers on the shared human experience, and this project beautifully echoes that mission. I’m honored to contribute to a message of awareness, strength, and resilience—of showing up for one another and building a world where we see each other not through our differences, but through our shared humanity.

Jocelyn Tsaih is a Taiwan-born, Shanghai-raised artist. She is a painter, illustrator, and muralist. Though she works in various mediums, the connecting thread throughout her work is her depiction of amorphous figures. Often portrayed in abstracted, liminal spaces, she aims to touch on the emotional aspects as well as the otherworldliness of our human experience.
