Jason Naylor, William Vale Hotel, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY , 2023

Artist statement: This mural is a glowing, golden composition of elements that support the message, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The bigger message here is that not only are you not alone, you are seen, heard and loved. To exemplify this I’ve included mushrooms as icons of the network of love we all share. Mushrooms are special in that they maintain a network of connections underneath the forest floor called the mycelial network. This acts as a highway system to spread nutrients to and from other plants in the forest, fortifying and nurturing the community of plants. Similarly, we spread love and kindness through our network, bringing people up and reminding them that they are loved. You are NOT alone, in fact, you are seen, you are heard, and most importantly, you are loved.

Thank You: I am grateful for @dirtybandits and @sam_schutz for their dedication to this project and I also want to give a huge shout out to David, the GM at @thewilliamvale who has supported this project so much and to paint this wall in the plaza at The William Vale Hotel is so major. This wall is about 50 ft long and 12 ft high and it slanted, so a huge challenge to paint. (And photograph LOL). But I’m very pleased with the wall, I love this design and the message is so valuable and special. Thank you to my assistant for this project @kitkitschh Special thanks to @elleresqphoto for the amazing photography, and this wall was painted with love and @montanacans 🤍
