Artist statement: My work often explores themes of empowerment, connection, and resistance through bold colors and strong female figures. For the You Are Not Alone mural project, I wanted to create something that felt like a visual hug, a reminder that, even in difficult moments, we are surrounded by care and community. I chose to include the phrase in Portuguese to speak directly to those who may feel invisible or unheard, especially fellow Brazilians like myself who might pass by and feel an unexpected sense of belonging. I paired this message with a smiling flower and a powerful figure to reflect the balance of softness and strength that lives within us all. This mural is about offering reassurance and connection. I hope it feels like a friend showing up when it matters most, because even in the hard times, there’s always a glimpse of hope for the future.
