Artist Statement: Mental health is something that impacts so many of us, and with my mural design I wanted to play with the idea of how we sometimes feel like we’re the only one in the universe who’s struggling. In reality, we’re all just trying our best. As a lettering artist, I love how the You Are Not Alone mural project allows us all to share this important message of solidarity because we’re more alike than we think.
Artist Bio: Alanna Flowers is a freelance lettering artist and designer based in Brooklyn, NY where she runs AGF Design Studio. She creates work using bold, playful lettering in a range of styles for brands like Adobe, The Los Angeles Times, Little Brown Young Readers, American Greetings, and more. In addition to working with a variety of clients, she enjoys sharing what she knows about lettering, digital art, and freelance through weekly YouTube videos, and tutorials with other artists.
